We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Commerical Insurance Team Lead to join our Hamilton, New Jersey Commercial Insurance team!

The Team Lead manages all operational functions and development of our Commercial Insurance Account Management Service Team. This role oversees the day-to-day functions of the department, coaches and mentors team members, and participates in the agency’s Leadership Team which drives our strategic goals and initiatives.

This position is responsible for managing commercial insurance operational activities to ensure that our Client Experience service standards are consistently met, and for the effective implementation of our servicing, renewal and Select new business processes and procedures.

The Commercial Insurance Department consists of 15+ insurance professionals which hold the positions of Account Managers and Insurance Processing Technicians. This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer of the company and will oversee all processes and operations involved with servicing clients to promote revenue growth, productivity, and ensure that exceptional levels of customer satisfaction are met. The Commercial Insurance Operations Manager also provides team members with the appropriate teaching, tools, direction, and motivation to enable their success. We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership skills and a hands-on approach to management.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

· Directly manage account management staff within the Commercial Insurance Department, including communicating expectations, monitoring individual employee performance, coaching and counseling, and taking appropriate corrective actions as needed.

· Monitor staff performance to ensure productivity, efficiency, quality and service standards are met.

· Participate in new employee hiring, interviewing and onboarding process.

· Provide new hire and ongoing staff learning & development activities.

· Monitor & manage account management operations including expirations/renewals, policy checking & processing, and Select new business.

· Direct and supervise employee workflows, workload, and overall performance.

· Provide feedback & recommendations about service structure to improve performance, process improvements to gain efficiency and additional resources required to meet business needs.

· Oversee and ensure that departmental expense budgets are adhered to.

· Analyze agency management system reports to gain insights into department trends, key performance indicators (KPIs) and to identify any inaccuracies with data entered in the agency management system.

· Conduct and participate in management, departmental and monthly company meetings

Education & Experience:

· 10+ years of commercial insurance experience with an independent insurance agency

· 5+ years’ experience managing or leading a team

· Bachelor’s Degree required

· Advanced professional designations highly desirable

Skills & Abilities:

· Leader with strong work ethic, accountability, timely follow-up, team oriented, proactive, detail oriented

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Customer service and relationship building skills

· High level of organizational & analytical skills, time management, and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and able to maintain own pace.

· Enthusiastic & positive attitude with a willingness to assist others at all times

· Intermediate computer knowledge and proficient with Microsoft Office

· Agency Management system experience - Applied Systems EPIC preferred
