Overview:

NV5 is recruiting for a Technical Editor to join our Communications & Document Services (CDS) team in Richland, WA.

Responsibilities:
  • Organizes, formats, and edits required technical and business documents, per the established corporate or project standards.
  • Reviews and edits documents and recommends revisions or changes relevant to style, format, terminology, and sequencing.
  • Consults with authors to obtain clarity of content.
  • Remains current on new developments in technical writing and editing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in English (or comparable field).
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in related field.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with document owners.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, to use time efficiently, and to develop realistic action plans.
  • Ability to adapt to modifications in the work environment, to manage competing demands, and to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Is dependable and consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Demonstrates aptitude for learning new skills.
  • Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
  • Demonstrates exemplary grammar skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign preferred.
  • Detail oriented.
