We are seeking a
Technical Writer 2 (Remote) to join our growing team!
Responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, references, manuals, cheat sheets, or instructions and working closely with the development team
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
A Day in the Life
- Creates and publishes technical documentation and manuals
- Collects and interprets technical data or information and coordinates layout for publication
- Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit operational procedures and manuals
- Write software documentation and generate content in online help and PDF formats
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
- Manage updates and revisions to technical documentation
We are looking for someone who brings
- Has proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
- Has the ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail
- Has the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable
- Can research all available resources to ensure accuracy of content developed
- Can interpret story documents for writing and updating product documentation
- Can interview subject matter experts and experiment with software to obtain technical and product knowledge for a project
- Can experiment with the product at all phases of development
- Can participate on Agile/cross-functional teams with members from other disciplines
- Can develop relationships with learning/support stakeholders, functional team members, and agile team members
- Is flexible with changing requirements and priorities
- Has 2-4 years of related experience
- Has a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Is proficient in Office 365 - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Has experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile software development
- Has experience documenting REST API is preferred
- Has experience with Madcap Flare is preferred
- Has experience using Azure DevOps or other Agile tools for managing user stories and tasks preferred:
- Experience working in accounting or at nonprofits or government entities is preferred
- Has experience using fund accounting or fundraising software products is preferred
