ENSCO Avionics, Inc. has a need for a hands-on Test Equipment Technician to order and track material, assemble, integrate, modify and maintain control systems test equipment used in avionics and power management systems. The individual will be responsible for assembling and repairing test equipment and supporting engineering from development through integration of Test Equipment, as well as, identifying possible build errors and design flaws during integration and review with design engineering. Candidate will have the capability to perform electrical troubleshooting using schematics, assembly of Test Equipment and other test/checkout activities. Knowledge of circuit analysis, electrical engineering concepts and terminology, and ability to follow established project management processes is required.
Additional responsibilities include selecting hardware components, as well as ordering, expediting and tracking component parts and following the build of assemblies through the product development shop for the test system. Cable design in drawing program which includes creating Bill of Materials, Wire Lists and preliminary Assembly drawings.
Integration includes configuration of the Test Stand PC and instrumentation, working with the design engineers to debug the test stand down to the component level and requires the ability to read, understand and modify and execute automated software test procedures written in high level script languages.
Qualifications Required (Skills)
- Minimum 5-7 years related experience or Bachelor of Science Degree/equivalent with 2 years related experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience working with Electrical Schematics
- Experience with Analog circuit troubleshooting
- Experience with product assembly using Assembly drawings, Parts lists, and Procedures
- Experience with the Integration and debug of hardware
- MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills including working in team environments
- Excellent verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate effectively in teleconferences with engineers, suppliers, clients and colleagues
Qualifications Desired
- Test Equipment experience
- Microsoft Visio experience
- Experience with various serial bus interfaces such as CAN, 1553, or ARINC
- PWB/Schematic capture experience using Eagle, Mentor Graphics, or similar toolset
- Labview Experience
- Test Script software generation
