Job description

• The functional safety contract engineer shall analyze the safety goals and requirements from the customer and develop a corresponding safety concept. He/she shall also discuss the safety concept with the electrical, mechanical and software teams and assign them the decomposed technical safety requirements.
• Interface with customer to collect and clarify functional safety requirements. Track requirements through design, coding, unit testing, integration testing, validation and release phases
• Discuss and negotiate functional safety DIA with the customer
• Derive technical safety requirements (ASIL-D) from the customer’s functional safety requirements
• Create a functional safety concept for each requirement and assign the design to the different engineering groups for implementation
• Interface with internal groups such as system, electrical, mechanical, validation, manufacturing, project leaders, program managers and external groups such as suppliers
• Be creative in developing optimized system architectures that meets the safety concept
• Review safety solutions and requirements from suppliers and apply them to architecture designs
• Ensure functional safety elements are included in DFMEA and in manufacturing test specifications
• Support product builds, launches and investigation of functional safety issues
• Planning of the FS activities, generation of FS plan in line with agreed DIA,
• Participation to/review of the safety analysis (FMEDA including calculation of PMHF, SPF and LFM metrics),
• The generation of safety case,
• Organize of and prepare for confirmation reviews
• Organize of and prepare for functional safety audits,
• Organize of and prepare for functional safety assessments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
