The Tool and Die Maker
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build a die from a part print or sample part
- Troubleshoots production tooling/dies and makes necessary repairs
- Design and build machine tools, cutting tools and other tools used for manufacturing
- Work on prototypes for Engineering Department
- Form grinding
- Checks tooling and responsible for supplying measurements to Engineering Department
- Learn to set up dies
- Works with Power Presses
- Skills & Qualifications:
- Some Machine Shop experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
- Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
- Thorough understanding of metallic properties.
- Ability to work independently, and with engineers and machinists.
- Familiar with all types of machine shop machines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent follow-up skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
