With over 400 locations in its pallet network, and 62 asset-based locations, Kamps is the national leader in customer-centric supply chain services.

We are currently looking for a Mechanic Apprentice to become a part of our Lansing team. Hours will be 5:30am to 2:00pm. This individual must be willing to be on call and work overtime when needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Trailer Repair
• Provide emergency, unscheduled and scheduled repairs of production equipment
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair production machines and tools
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Ability to work with 3 phase motors
• Comply with OSHA safety and health rules
• Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
• All maintenance must be performed within safety standards
• Meet deadlines and work well with varied personalities and ability levels.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Bi-lingual is a plus

Preferred Abilities:

• Prefer some PLC competencies
• Prefer some welding and fabrication competencies
• DOT Trailer Certification highly recommended
• Experience with 440 electrical is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
