POSITION TITLE: Training and Program Manager, Youth & College Division
LOCATION: Washington, DC

POSITION SUMMARY

The NAACP is seeking a Training and Program Manager, Youth & College Division who has the skills, tools, and techniques to plan and achieve project objectives to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations.


RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Coordinate local and national trainings and programs in collaboration with staff;
  • Manage and track trainings and programs, metrics and outcomes from within the membership;
  • Manage administrative workflow by studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures;
  • Arrange clear and efficient protocols for the capture and reporting of information received through the NAACP switchboard;
  • Establish rapport with constituents, managers, and employees by arranging continuing contacts, researching and developing new services and methods, setting priorities, resolving problem situations;
  • Resolve administrative problems by analyzing information, identifying and communicating solutions;
  • Maintain continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating needed actions to management, discovering irregularities, determining continuing needs;
  • Assist in preparation of regular mailings and materials for special projects;
  • Conduct and maintain a comprehensive filing system for the department;
  • Administer all procedures for the department;
  • Handle special projects as assigned;
  • Prepare check requests and purchase requisitions for the department as needed;
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Youth & College Division database;
  • Support the Director with special project deadlines and inter-departmental projects;
  • Complete administrative projects by identifying and implementing new technology and resources, redesigning systems, recommending re-deployment of designated resources;
  • Accomplish department and organization mission by completing related results as needed; and
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the National Director of the Youth & College Division or other designee.


NATIONAL YOUTH WORKS COMMITTEE, CONFERENCES AND EVENTS:

  • Plan and execute administrative procedures and routines in support of meetings, trainings, events, and conferences led by Director;
  • Research and assist in the development of meeting and training materials;
  • Coordinate and oversee all onsite logistics for procedures and routines in support of meetings, trainings, events, and conferences;
  • Coordinate travel and set-up logistics with Events Planning;
  • Monitor expenditures versus approved budgets for the meetings, events and conferences;
  • Coordinate mailings; and
  • Moderate traveling required.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, some college coursework or equivalent experience preferred;
  • 3-4 years of administrative support experience, and knowledge of office procedures;
  • 3-4 years strong project coordination background with track record of completing project within given timelines;
  • Previous experience with meeting, travel, or event planning;
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure of time and urgent deadlines;
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently; and
  • Ability and willingness to travel upon request.
