Position Title: DHDSP Health Informatics Specialist

Summary

The Health Informatics Specialist will provide responsive technical assistance and design customer-centric trainings and resources for the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, Applied Research and Evaluation Branch (AREB) and funded recipients. These services will directly support the 1) Best Practices Clearinghouse and other resources promoting DHDSP evidence-based practices and 2) pharmacy-related initiatives to enhance health equity in hypertension detection and control. The Health Informatics Specialist must have the ability to provide professional and competent support in the dissemination, training, and use of an interactive online repository of best practice resources, developing and managing up to date content, addressing access issues and other technical issues or concerns expressed by users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing support of the interactive online repository of best practice resources, developing and managing up to date content, addressing access issues and any other technical issues expressed by users.
  • Provide ongoing regular technical assistance to internal and external users of the Best Practices Clearinghouse with high quality customer service.
  • Design user-centric trainings either in written format or as a presentation.
  • Deliver user-centric trainings in written format or as a presentation.
  • Design guidance resources for users to maximize use of Best Practices Clearinghouse and related products
  • Design trainings, resources, and supporting products to advance pharmacy-related initiatives to enhance health equity in hypertension detection and control.
  • Client may require on-site meeting attendance.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Possess a minimum of a master’s degree in Knowledge Translation, Informatics or Computer Science.
  • Have at least two years of documented Informatics or Computer Science experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • 3 years’ experience working with federal or state agencies.
  • 2 years specific work or training experience related to heart disease and stroke prevention, or management of chronic conditions is preferred.

Salary commensurate with experience.
