The Transport & Packaging Specialist will represent the company in a manner; to enhance our image, reputation, and efficiency using the highest levels of customer care. The associate is required to pack the customers' samples following Biocair’s procedures and observing all relevant regulations. To drive safely and maintain company vehicles in a completely professional manner.

Responsibilities
Conduct on the Road

• To follow all rules and Codes of Conduct relevant to driving, to create the best impression whilst on the road, and to perform these tasks in the safest a safe manner.
• Must have a clear knowledge and understanding of all accident/breakdown procedures.
• To be aware of the regulations covering the transportation, labeling, and packaging of hazardous substances and always observe and comply with DOT and IATA regulations.

Collection and Packing

• To follow all procedures and safety regulations to enhance Biocair’s image and reputation while at customers’ premises.
• The associate must carry a valid Driver’s License and Biocair security identification card.
• Meeting deadlines for local pick-ups and deliveries.
• Following special pick-up and delivery instructions given by the Logistic Coordinators.
• To conduct all packaging and labeling activities observing the company guidelines.
• Must have a clear understanding of Ambient Packaging, Refrigerated Packaging, Dry Ice Packaging, Infectious Substances Packaging, Dangerous Goods Packaging, and any other relevant procedures.
• To report problems with documentation and packaging immediately to specified operations contacts.
• To be aware of the regulations covering the transportation, labeling, and packaging of hazardous substances and always observe and comply with these regulations.

Customer Care

• To act as a representative of Biocair and to provide the highest level of customer care.
• To communicate the customer's comments and to act as the eyes and ears of Biocair.
• When meeting with a customer to act within the company code of conduct.

Vehicles

• To ensure the company’s fleet of vehicles is kept in a condition to enhance Biocair’s reputation.
• To have responsibility for the cleanliness of the vehicles (interior and exterior) to ensure each vehicle is always in pristine condition and appearance.
• To report any faults or defects immediately to the transport manager in writing on the defect report form.
• To carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks and perform simple maintenance tasks as required (changing bulbs, charging batteries).
• Ensure all vehicles are locked and always alarmed when not being driven.
• To refuel the vehicle ready for the next driver before the end of every shift.

Warehouse

• To perform all necessary duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse and to ensure stock levels are managed most efficiently.
• To monitor and actively manage the stock levels of packaging items, including conducting monthly stock checks, and report any shortfalls to the appropriate person. To ensure minimal stock levels are always maintained.
• Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy, storing all materials in designated places.
• Receiving dry ice deliveries and storing most effectively to reduce waste.

Company

• To attend Transport department meetings and give feedback on all issues affecting the company.
• To work together with the other drivers, departments, and management to overcome problems and find ways, to continually improve our methods and procedures.
• To attend monthly individual meetings with the operations manager to discuss progress and improve communication and feedback.

Skills, Experience and Education

• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• General driving knowledge of the airports and tri-state area.
• Ability and knowledge to perform daily Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections.
• Understanding of basic DOT rules and regulations needed to perform daily operational requirements.
• Physical ability to move/lift shipments of up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to travel out of state if necessary.

• Able to work both as part of a small team and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision or guidance.
• A high level of attention to detail in all aspects of their work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
