Transporters:

The Transporter (EMT Trainee) is responsible for transporting non-emergency medical patients and assisting EMTs in lifting and moving patients. As a Transporter you will be taught proper lifting, patient movement techniques & mechanics and gurney operations. This position is designed to work in partnership with your external EMT training programs by providing flexible schedules to earn while you learn. You will work with our operations teams gaining valuable knowledge of EMS policies and procedures, patient interaction, and healthcare operations within the EMS system.

TRANSPORTER DEPLOYMENT STATIONS

• Hayward

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely Transferring patients from bed or chair to gurney.

• Operating a gurney equipped vehicle.
• Assisting CCT and BLS crews to safely transport and transfer patients.
• Communicating with our dispatch team, hospital nurses and family members.
• Helping bring our patients from their residence to the hospital, hospital to hospital or to doctor’s appointments.
• Follow all Policies and Procedures for Falcon Ambulance.

• Ensure all documentation is completed as a record of patient care.

CREDENTIALS & REQUIREMENTS

• American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Professional.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Medical Examiner's Certification (must be submitted within 30 days of hire)
• Must be attending or enrolled in an accredited EMT Certification Training Program.
  • Note: Falcon Ambulance does not provide EMT Certification Training.

• 
  Perform the physical requirements of a Transporter & pass the Gurney Test.
• Frequently lift 150 pounds unassisted and to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.
