Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides safe and efficient transport and/or movement of patients within the hospital.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Transports patients within the hospital as needed to support care needs. Ensures the effective transfer of patient belongings, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensures patient safety by moving patient efficiently with caution and care at all times.
• Identifies patient needs and ensures the mode of transport is appropriate for the specific condition of the patient. Transfers patients to/from cart/bed/wheelchair using correct and safe equipment and techniques. Assists with patient lifts/moves as requested.
• Ensures transport equipment is clean, maintained and stored properly according to proper guidelines and standards.
• Contributes to a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor required
