Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
We are currently working on several projects to fabricate novel membranes for water and gas purification. The associate will participate in experiments with membrane fouling and scaling systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Major tasks include: preparation of water-salt samples, slats crystals formation, scale deposition, preparation and autoclaving of ancillary equipment used in the set-up, and sampling of effluent water at defined sampling times using analytical techniques. Additionally, the associate will be expected to perform membrane testing and separation performance related to flux and fouling properties. Daily maintenance and calibration of instruments and advanced troubleshooting will also be expected. - (Essential)

Required Competencies

  • Hands-on experience in the use of automated instrumental analytical techniques.

Minimum Requirements

  • Chemical Engineering major, Polymer Chemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related
subject
  • Knowledge in membrane and separation chemistry and application, water chemistry and water treatment business.
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.
