SSI needs to add an Unexploded Ordnance Technician I to support our current list of services provided to the U.S. Navy. These positions, located at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in White Sands, New Mexico, will provide engineering, technical, logistics, and administrative support in the planning, maintenance, preparation, execution, launch operations and post-test phases to the W Department of the Navy Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).

Primary Functions:

• Perform weapon munitions operations to include handling, transportation, assembly, load out and arming.
• Work as part of an ordnance-qualified handling team
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as required
• Assist in the requisition of ordnance.
• Some equipment operation during test events and support at other sites may be required.
• Travel will be required to both CONUS and OCONUS locations

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Qualified in accordance with NAVSEA OP 5 and OPNAVINST 8020.14 instructions to perform team leader,
• team member, and safety observer functions
• 3 years work experience supporting weapons systems.
• Licensed for the operation of overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Required HS Diploma or GED and related DoD/DoN missile / gun munition experience and qualifications.
• Must have a valid driver’s license..

CONTINGENT OFFER

This position is contingent upon contract award and is anticipated to start in May of 2023.

Must possess a valid driver’s license. U.S. Citizenship and must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance required for hire, and to be maintained throughout employment. All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
