UPS Customer Solutions – Supply Chain Optimization Co-Op
JOB DESCRIPTION:
UPS Global Customer Solutions team is looking for a student to join our Supply Chain Optimization team. Global Customer Solutions and Sales works closely with UPS customers to meet their supply chain needs. The Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) team provides consulting expertise to UPS customers with a wide Solutions Portfolio ranging from Sustainability Offsets and Mitigation, Warehouse Layout and Process Redesign, and Network Optimization.
Location: Remote
Responsibilities and Duties
- Works with supervisors and managers to develop skills to support and execute projects within the Customer Solution SCO portfolio
- Takes an active role in developing consulting opportunities, planning, and execution of a variety of solutions – not limited to:
- Sustainability Offset and Mitigation
- Discuss how UPS can measure carbon emissions and provides offset programs
- Warehouse Layout and Process Redesign
- Develop recommendations to increase warehousing efficiencies with process and layout redesign for UPS Customers
- Network Optimization
- Model network configurations to minimize transportation cost while maximizing service
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates strong communication skills to determine root cause of supply chain challenges
- Reviews costs of various options and ability to perform alternative analysis and recommends optimal solutions
- Demonstrates aptitude for analytics
- Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Projects)
- Demonstrates Industrial Engineering experience: knowledge of work measurement, methods, and procedures
- Knowledge of Access and Auto CAD – Preferred
- Industrial Engineering, Sustainability Engineering, Sales Engineering or comparable - Preferred
