US Histtory Tutor for a Middle School in the SW area of Houston. Fondren/Bissonnett area

Provide all students with appropriate US History learning experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills successfully to excel on the STAAR assessment.

• 8th grade
• On-site tutoring
• Monday - Thursday
• 6 hours per day
• 2 Saturdays per month

Qualifications

Education/Certification
Associates or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred.

• Must be able to create tutoring plans
• Provides high quality instruction to individual students and small groups
• Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress
• Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students
• Organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision.

Special Knowledge/Skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
Openness to change and innovation to meet the needs of all students

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
