Job description
Purpose:
This position is responsible for the operation of machinery used in cut room production. Incumbents may perform any task in the unit except the use of a knife in hand cutting, boning and saw operations.
Essential Functions:
- Operate machinery used for grinding, cubing, making patties or wrapping product.
- Follows designated checklist
- Reports problems to supervisor
- Follow recommended safety precautions
- Handle fresh beef, pork, veal
- Move product from warehouse to meat production room
- Open boxes and bags
- Check for the cleanliness of equipment
- Ensure all special order are filled correctly
- Meet assigned production standards
- Use proper sanitization procedures
- May be required to remove cardboard from the Meat Production Room
- Recycle cardboard
- Wears required safety equipment
- Safety shoes
- Hard hat
- Smocks, hair nets
- Attend all required company meetings.
- Adhere to all safety practices and company policies

Work Environment:
This position works in a production setting, with routine exposure to extreme temperatures ( to -10 degrees) during the workday. This role routinely uses standard meat processing equipment such as grinders, packaging equipment and Morel steak cutting machine .
Physical Demands

- Grasps and/or manipulates objects by quickly moving on hand, a hand and arm together or two hands
- Lift / Push Carry 0 to 50 lbs
- Bend / Stoop / Twist / Kneel
- routine exposure to extreme temperatures ( to 30 degrees)
- routinely uses standard processing equipment, such as, grinders, packaging machine, Marel steak cutting machine
- May be required to Lift / Push /Carry 51 to 100 lbs
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of ages.
- Read, write and communicate in English.
- Sufficient reasoning capabilities to solve practical problems
- Work in a cold temperature
- Attention to detail
- Good Hygiene
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience in a USDA regulated environment, preferred
- Previous experience using Industrial equipment, Grinders, Moving Machinery, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic, preferred
- Mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of HACCP Standards, preferred
