Vaccination Program Nurse

Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. is looking for a talented RNs or LPNs with the highest level of professionalism to step into our culturally diverse and fast-paced facility!

Summary: The Vaccination Program Nurse will provide and facilitate COVID Vaccinations and ensures they are administered in accordance with licensure standards, policy and procedure guidelines, and organizational policy.

Hours: Varied Days/Evenings Monday - Saturday (including extended hours for clinical vaccination days)

Position Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provide safe and knowledgeable delivery of the COVID-19 Vaccine
• Assist with setup and break-down of wellness/immunization clinics and transport of vaccine(s) and sharps
• Assist with completion of immunization consent forms for participants
• Perform intramuscular injection and subcutaneous injection proficiently
• Administer vaccines (per manufacturer instructions) proficiently and educate clients and caregivers about age specific immunizations, precautions/contraindications and possible adverse reactions
• Transport vaccine(s) and maintain the cold chain process to promote desirable temperature conditions to maintain the shelf-life of the product
• Ensure proper biohazardous waste transport and disposal
• Maintains appropriate infection control standards and precautions
• Maintain compliance with relevant policies and procedures pertaining to the role and function of nurses working in the wellness clinic
• Implement emergency management responses to i.e., adverse reactions, anaphylaxis administer epinephrine per physician order
• Report incidents and/or injuries/needle sticks
• Implement proper biohazardous waste process/protocols
• Implement proper utilization of PPE

Experience and Skills:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
• Valid and current NJ RN or LPN license
• Current CPR and valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certificate or diploma from an accredited medical training program
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Community health experience preferred
• Strong computer skills: EHR experience preferred
