Bear Creek Veterinary Care, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, seeks a part or full time veterinary assistant/technician to work in our three doctor, AAHA accredited veterinary hospital. Veterinary assistants primary goal is to keep the hospital clean and orderly, as well as assist doctors in all aspects of veterinary medicine, and once training is completed, you will take pet histories, weigh and obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration rates of pets, obtain samples for testing, take X-rays, monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery, assist the doctor in treatments, prepare surgery packs, run laboratory samples, clean cages and runs, communicate with clients, enter data in to the computer, prepare medications, and provide nursing care for pets. We have high focus on pet/client interaction and this job requires good communication skills to educate clients about their pets. We use fear free techniques in all interaction with pets.

This position is part/full time, normally about 27-40 hours per week. This position has work hours normally scheduled from Monday through Saturday, see our web site for hours of operation.

The requirements of the job are that you can lift #50 pounds, 1 year of animal related job history, work Saturdays and some evenings, pass a drug test and a background check.
