The Pet Emergency and Specialty Center of Marin (www.pescm.com) is looking for Full Time Veterinary Technicians or Assistants to join our Outpatient emergency department. We have immediate openings for swing and weekend shifts. We continue to see record breaking cases in all departments: Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, Neurology, Urgent Care, Emergency, and Critical Care. PESCM utilizes the cloud-based management software system, Ezyvet, which integrates with an iPad accessible patient treatment sheet software, Smartflow, for a paperless billing system so you can focus on what you do best, patient care!

Veterinary Technicians at PESCM are responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. The Outpatient Technician must be comfortable and proficient with:

• Obtaining radiographs utilizing out of room techniques as we do not manually restrain for safety!
• Getting blood samples: jugular, peripheral, butterfly technique
• Triaging and talking to clients
• Taking direction from Shift Lead as needed
• Working closely with the Outpatient Client Service Coordinators
• Placing IVCs
• Going over discharges
• Comfort and proficient with basic medical calculations
• Maintain accurate treatment sheets
• Ability to multitask

About You:

• Experience in a veterinary setting is required
• Basic understanding of normal vitals and lab tests
• Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
• Introductory knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Ability to take direction from a variety of staff members
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
• Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
