Position Title: Virtual Tax Preparer

Department: Tax Support

Status: Seasonal with potential to transition to full-time

Reports to: Tax Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Location: Hurst, TX Support Center or remote in the DFW area

Position Purpose

The Tax Return Preparer will prepare income tax returns for Liberty Tax customers around the U.S. He/she will also act within the Company as a subject matter expert (SME) on a variety of federal and state tax issues. We will provide training in federal and state income taxation, as well as the use of our proprietary tax preparation software. Enrolled Agents and Certified Public Accountants are welcome to apply!

Position Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Establish rapport with clients to build working relationships and increase retention

• Provide exceptional customer service

• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns

• Fulfills ongoing training and testing requirements, as required

• Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

• PTIN required

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner

• Experience with Drake Tax (preferred)

• MS Office Suite (Word and Excel, PowerPoint is a plus

• Qualified applicants must be self-starters and computer literate

• Flexibility to work nights and weekends, as needed

• Attention to detail

Preferences

• At least three (3) years of experience in the tax industry.

• Experience with tax preparation software.

• Some experience preparing state and/or business returns.

• Ability to work within the pressures of tax filing seasons and operate within tight deadlines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The position requires working in an office atmosphere assisting clients.
