The Role
At CoStar Group, Photography plays a critical role in bringing our products to life on behalf of our customers. Whether visually capturing a new state of the art office building or the essence of a neighborhood, photography and video brings real estate to life and allows users to imagine what is possible. Reporting to the SVP, Research, we are looking for a VP, Field Research Operations who will lead and inspire a large, growing team of world class photographers and field researchers around the globe. This individuals mandate will be to continue to create compelling and impactful photo and video content across our products (CoStar, Apartments.com, LoopNet, Ten-X, Homes.com, etc.). They will need to bring a strong operational and results oriented mindset to the position.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Directors and Managers with a strong operational mindset to ensure individual metrics and quality standards are being met.
- Develop and recruit strong operational leadership to support the organization.
- Lead and organize a team of 300+ photographers and oversee the expansion of the team to 400+ in order to support the expansion of business and customer activity.
- Ensure operational metrics are in place that are aligned to, and support, business objectives as well as developing delivery standards that can be scaled across a large global organization.
- Create a Research and Development team to ensure we continue to evolve capabilities and stay on top of the latest trends by testing and adopting new hardware and software technologies impacting drone capabilities, photography and videography.
- Develop a robust and scalable QA process that ensures we maintain high delivery and quality standards.
- Focus on continuous improvement of workflows and processes to drive optimization and innovation.
- Collaborate with Sales leaders, Product, Research and IT to deliver the best visual product possible on behalf of our customers.
- Develop world class on-boarding and training programs that focus on driving integration of new team members and the on-going development of photographers and managers.
Experience/Requirements
Bachelors required and Masters preferred
- 10+ years leading a team responsible for delivering a product against deadlines
- 5+ years of experience leading large-scale dispersed teams (200+) against deadlines and deliverables
- Proven track record driving accountability with Directors and Managers and leading in a metric driven organization
- Demonstrated ability to operate in fast paced environment with high creative and delivery standards
- Ability to collaborate across functional areas to deliver assignments
- Strong communication skills required both written and including an ability to influence others through data
- Passion and interest in real estate as plus
