Job Description – Midwestern VP Division Manager

Job Description
Environmental Restoration LLC is a provider of cost effective hazardous wastes material management, site remediation and removal services. Our services include Emergency Response, Site Remediation, Environmental Construction, and Specialty Technical Services. Since 1997, we have been a remediation contractor for federal, state, local agencies and private sector clients, providing services nationwide from our St. Louis corporate headquarters and from our 24 offices located across the United States.

Working as the VP of the Midwestern Division requires a wide breadth of knowledge and experience. The VP Division Manager shall possess strong knowledge of hazmat, emergency response procedures, and large site remediation experience as well as having exceptional leadership and client relationship qualities. The VP Division Manager shall possess a wide range of remediation technology experience as it applies to soil, groundwater and facility decontamination as needed to carry out both business development and provide oversight to project managers. The VP Division Manager must be have direct and demonstrated experience in managing large complex projects for both USEPA, DoD and Commercial clients and be capable for providing estimating of Fixed Price and CPFF work. The VP Division Manager must possess exceptional time management skills and be able to work towards tight deadlines while managing a multidisciplinary team across wide geographic area in support of government and commercial clients. In effort to meet utilization goals for the position, the Division Manager must meet requirements for the Project Manager position within DoD (degreed with project management experience) and EPA ERRS Response Manager (Project management experience, CHMM). It is not the intent to require the DM to manage projects from field, but rather to obtain utilization while managing projects primarily offsite.

The offices covered by the Midwestern Division include Chicago (main branch), St. Paul, Cleveland, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. We expect the Midwestern VP reside within 40 miles of the Chicago office.

The Midwestern VP Division Manager is responsibilities include:
  • Evaluating division performance and recommending new strategies for performance improvements
  • Resolving business issues and ensuring that all escalated issues are closed
  • Ensuring teamwork in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identifying skill gaps and providing / arranging appropriate training.
  • Developing and enforcing best practices to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Recommending cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity and growth.
  • Developing new business (private and public) to meet productivity and growth.
  • Supporting EPA, DoD and Fixed Price business development effort through client meeting, project estimating, project management and proposal support.
  • Providing guidance to team members and monitor their performance.
  • Identifying areas of improvements and concerns and developing action plans.
  • Evaluating regional Commercial Emergency Response Managers based on established performance measures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Geographically reside within 40 miles of our Merrilville office.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Federal, State and Local environmental regulations/laws
Be able to set and carry out obtainable goals
Ensure the proper staffing of response team(s), and lead employees by example
Effectively communicate with personnel and clientele
Business growth
Be able to assist in providing solutions to complex situations
Create and monitor schedules for each worker
Perform, complete and or oversee internal company documentation as well as project documentation
Brief crew members about how daily tasks need to be carried out
Handle onsite incidents and emergencies in a proactive manner
Create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of supplies and materials
Have an excellent driving history
Must be compliant with ER's vaccination policy
Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and physical exam.
Legally eligible to work in the United States (Verified through E-Verify)
Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
Able to wear full and half face respirator
Able to work in confined spaces
Regularly lift and carry 50 pounds

Environmental experience, hazardous waste experience and certification (i.e. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER), Class "A" CDL, heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience required.
