AppleOne Employment Services is recruiting for temp-to-hire position for a Turning Attendant. This is located in Plymouth, MN. Able to start quickly, apply now to set-up an interview immediately.As the Turning Attendant you will provide support with secondary and deburring operations to production standards. Run common machine shop equipment such as the edge beveller, drill presses, the parts washer, hand tools, scale, and the ballizer.
Schedule: 5:00am • 1:30pm, Monday • Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Follow instructions and produces required quantity of parts by instruction of team leader.
- Deburr and perform secondary work on parts while maintaining the dimensional requirements, surface finishes, and integrity of the parts.
- Use a variety of power and manual operated hand tools and equipment to complete support operations to parts.
- Responsible for keeping work area in neat condition and following 5S.
- Follow all safety rules, proper guarding, and uses PPE.
- Perform secondary and rework operations on pre-set up 2-axis turning centers.
- Use a variety of basic inspection equipment to provide routine inspections when running rework and secondary, or when sorting non-conforming parts.
- Maintain various reports, such as job travelers, inspections, and quantities.
- Follow Epicor and MES procedures to account for labor and quantities.
- Support the Receiving Department with unloading material from trucks.
- Provide cleaning support throughout the Machine Shop and Support areas, utilizing different cleaners and accessories • such as the floor scrubbers, brooms, and dust pans.
- Follow all policies and procedures per the IMI Policy Manual, Quality Management System, ISO 9001, Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safety Program.
- Perform other Shop duties as assigned.
- 0-2 years working in a manufacturing or related environment required.
- Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work instructions and prepare simple production reports.
- Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate common machine shop equipment, and visually inspect parts.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate common machine shop equipment and tooling properly.
- Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
- Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry 40 pounds frequently.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to use basic inspection equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, and thread gages.
- Must be age 18 or older to comply with OSHA standards.
