Job description
Performs semi-skilled work of average difficulty in the maintenance and operation of a public drinking water plant and pumping facilities. Performs related work as required.

Monitors pump stations and plants for proper operation- Makes daily reports on water operations
- Performs routine analysis on water samples
- Change chlorine bottles
- Services and repairs pumps, chlorinators and other equipment
- Assist with compiling and preparing daily reports
- Learns and performs proper operation and maintenance of Randell water treatment plant
- Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in the assigned work area
- Knowledge of divisional policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the assigned work area
- Knowledge of City policies and procedures regarding personnel matters and the requisitioning and maintenance of materials
- Knowledge of the equipment and materials used in the assigned work area.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Ability to perform moderate physical labor
- Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to work nights, weekends and overtime on demand
- Must have a High school diploma/GED
- Must have a TCEQ Class D Water license
- Valid driver’s license required at time of placement
- Must have driving sufficient for coverage by City's auto liability carrier

- Occasionally required to squat, kneel and crawl as job requires
- Frequently required to bend, climb, reach above head or below shoulder level
- Ability to work in inclement weather as required
