The Water Treatment and CXO Supervisor will oversee manufacturing/water treatment operations and is responsible for leading the water treatment team to meet business safety, responsible care and production objectives, as well as working collaboratively with the environmental systems engineer and maintenance teams to optimize water treatment process. You will also support the Norwood production teams with supervisory, administrative and process improvement duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate production plans and priorities to team members and ensuring that priorities are effectively worked daily.
- Communicate effectively with production team, maintenance and quality control management regarding issues and opportunities for improvement and work cooperatively across shifts to improve communication and plant processes.
- Provide safety, responsible care and performance leadership including coordinating group training and providing individual coaching and feedback to the shift teams.
- Engageteam members in improving Shepherd processes including listening to and incorporating ideas for improvement.
- Support housekeeping and 5S initiatives across the plant.
- Support the consistent application of Shepherd policies and practices across teams and shifts in a manner consistent with Shepherd’s core purpose and core values.
- Create and distribute plant and lab batch sheets, communicate production schedule updates.
- Follow up with maintenance requests from team members; submit maintenance work orders as necessary, plan and direct maintenance activities on the floor.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and process improvement support and to assist with key production team responsibilities as needed.
- Create standard operating procedures
- Capture relevant troubleshooting information for process upsets
- Monitor key process and cycle time data and supporting evaluation of in process analytical results
- Manage weekly overtime list
- Fill in for production team manager and other supervisors as required
- Emergency Response Incident Commander Norwood
- Monitor raw material inventories and coordinate with purchasing raw material receiving
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a chemical manufacturing plant is required
Required Skills
- Demonstrated technical aptitude – ability to understand and troubleshoot processes
- Interpersonal and communication skills needed to interface with colleagues at all levels
- Organizational skills - able to manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment
- Demonstrated computer skills (proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Preferred Skills
- Lean / Six Sigma training and experience
- Experience in running SAP R/3 software
- Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office skills
Working Conditions
Our manufacturing environment follows the outside temperature. During the summer months, the indoor temperature may surpass 100o F. In the winter, the temperature may also drop to around freezing temperatures. We provide necessary uniforms, safety glasses, gloves, jackets, etc. as needed to perform your job safely.
