The Welder prepares, positions, aligns, and joins metal structural shapes with MIG, TIG and Spray Arc welding procedures and achieved ASME Section IX, complete x-ray certified welds.

• Examines drawing, inventories components to ensure that all required materials are available, and that they conform to the drawing and documentation.
• Identifies and resolves any problem with drawings with the Welding Lead/Supervisor.
• Requisitions welding materials through the Welding Lead/Supervisor.
• Records the material MTR's (Material Test Records) on the drawing and manufactures accordingly.
• Performs the actual fit‑up of materials and welding per identified weld procedures. Supervisor may approve fit‑up by annotating initials and date on drawing.
• When welding operation is complete, grinds or chips rough edges, surplus weld, or scale. Cleans up assembly with wire buffer or sander as required.
• Performs visual inspection prior to inspection by Welding Lead/Supervisor or Authorized Inspector.
• Follow requirements for weld inspection hold points.
• Accurately record labor times and maintain acceptable productivity per the company established standard.
• Complete x-ray quality welds.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Professional and/or technical school welding experience required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed to meet business demands.
