Welder Assistant

* Ability to assemble/weld components by hand using reference samples. * Ability to layout / fabricate made to order components using shop equipment - band saws, plasma cutter, acetylene torch, grinders, lathe, etc.

* Be motivated and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, with limited supervision.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
* Must have own tools & welding hood
* Be creative, demonstrate attention to detail and be quality oriented.
* Read prints, drawings, plans, or job write-ups and apply fabrication or welding techniques to complete projects.
* Measure various materials using a variety of measuring tools. Must be able to apply metric principles.
* Experience with a lift truck a plus.
* Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and other materials.
* Working knowledge of weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
* Conventional and precision measuring instruments.
* Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.

* Mechanical skills.'
