Job description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a long-term Welder/Fabricator/Mechanic for our fabrication shop in Northwest Portland. The person in this position will weld stainless steel using short arc and TIG, assemble and fit up parts, set-up plumbing, and install electrical components on a single occupancy outdoor bathroom unit.
PAY: $26-$34/hr
Welder/Fabricator/Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Fabricate from prints.
- Wirefeed welding on stainless.
- TIG welding on stainless.
- Plumbing/sweating copper.
- Making valves for bathrooms.
- Mechanical assembly, bolting together parts, fitting.
- Installation and assembly of electrical components
- Float between projects when needed.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Welder/Fabricator/Mechanic Qualifications:
- 2+ year of fabrication experience.
- 2+ year of welding on stainless (TIG or MIG).
- Prior experience as a maintenance mechanic or millwright preferred.
- Experience reading welding blueprints.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Electrical knowledge.
- Plumbing knowledge.
