POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Wellness Floor Attendants interact with new and existing members to help them in achieving their health and wellness goals, create a welcoming environment for members of all backgrounds and abilities, and maintain a clean and safe environment through dependable housekeeping services for the wellness spaces. Strong communication, listening and organizational skills are required.

POSITION AVAILABLE: We are hiring 1 individual to cover the following hours: Mon-Fri 6am to 9am and Sun 9-12am

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CANDIDATES:·

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certification training within 30 days of hire date.
• Completion of YMCA Principles of Member Health and Wellness online course within 30 days of hire date.
• General knowledge of exercise and weight training.
• Cleaning experience.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to enforce rules and speak in public.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members, helping members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Maintains clean and safe wellness spaces by performing housekeeping duties as designated by the Healthy Living Coordinator.
• Introduces new members to group exercise communities based their health and well-being goals.
• Answers member questions to support their healthy living goals.
• Utilizes tools and information for the purpose of increasing member knowledge of wellness as well as wellness programs provided through the YMCA (handouts, schedules, etc.).
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
• Actively participates in department and branch staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Wellness Center environment must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, and bend over, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull and move, lift and/ or carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly, at or above waist height.
