POSITION SUMMARY: The WIC clerk and WIC Lead Clerk positions are responsible in overseeing the functions
at the front desk, including but not limited to answering the phone, processing appointments, issuing vouchers, scheduling
appointments, and filing charts. The only difference between the lead clerk and clerk position is the lead clerk enforces
policies and procedures within the group.
POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides various services to clients when answering the telephone (30%).
- Prints clients vouchers when they come in for an appointment (30%).
- Processes the certification appointment by completing the necessary paperwork and by filling in the data (20%)
- Filing active and terminated charts (15%).
- Attend meetings and in-service (4%).
- Assists co-workers with problem-solving and completing other daily duties (1%).
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; Medical terminology
- Licensure: none required
- Language: English
- Travel: Yes, The use of personal vehicle is required.
- Exposure: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles and rarely exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. Additionally, the employee may rarely be exposed to blood and other bodily fluids. Finally, the nose level in the work environment will regularly consist of a moderate level. In all cases, personal protective equipment will be provided to the employee in combination with adequate ventilation and other engineering controls to minimize the risk of exposure or other hazardous occurrences.
