Youth Achievement Manager - Belvedere After School Programming
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community
through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Youth Achievement Manager
provides leadership and supervision to ensure a safe and nurturing environment that facilitates
learning and relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and to fulfill
YMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in
accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships
with community organizations.
2. Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling and directing personnel and
volunteers as needed. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
3. Maintains community service resource information to promote available opportunities.
4. Implements continuous quality improvement process and strategies.
5. Secures and schedules facilities.
6. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
7. Initiates expenditures in accordance with policy and procedures with approval of Director.
8. Assists in fundraising and special events.
9. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all participant and
community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
10. Compiles and maintains program statistics and records. Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of
and participation in program.
11. Actively participates in department, branch and association meetings and trainings.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience to meet state licensing
requirements
2. At least 1 year supervisory experience in customer service or education
3. Demonstrated success leading education-focused or equivalent team
4. Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
5. Complete before first shift: YMCA cause & culture training; education-specific training
6. Complete within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention Training; CPR; First Aid; Emergency
Oxygen Administration (provided by YMCA)
7. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments
of the community and successful clearance of background check

- Office/recreational/school environment. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking and engaging
with youth are required.
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise
program.
- Hours will include evening and weekend work.
- Reliable transportation and travel among local branches and off-site facilities required.
