POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Youth and Adult Program Director will be responsible for direct hands-on program/event development, implementation, delivery, evaluation, and budget expectations for the Sampson Family YMCA. The Youth and Adult Program Director is responsible for integrating the policies, procedures, best practices and standards for high quality, safe programs determined by the YMCA standards of quality. This position will require a flexible schedule of day, evening and weekend shifts to align with program needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives of the following programs: Youth & Adult Sports & Leagues, Youth & Adult Enrichment (art, dance, clubs etc.), Pickleball and Family Fun Nights.
- Recruits, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Ensures screening process is completed for all program volunteers.
- Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, Organize and schedule program registrations.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Participates in community events, expos, on and offsite open houses, etc. in order to increase awareness of YMCA programs.
- Responsible for upholding all staff and participant safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by this department.
- Leads with customer service as a priority.
- Ensures child safety. May assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe facility.
- On-site attendance is required for this position.
- Serves as a Manager on Duty when assigned.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Flexible schedule that aligns with programming needs, hours will include day, evening and weekend availability.
- Instructs Youth and Adult classes as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or 1-2 years of equivalent experience.
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Proficient computer skills with experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, program software, and social media.
- Ability to communicate and relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Completion of CPR, First Aid, and AED within 30 days of employment.
Candidates must have final Criminal Clearance certificates prior to starting employment. This includes PA Criminal Certificate, NSOR Verification, PA FBI - Use Code: 1kg738 and PA Child Abuse.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand in excess of 15 minutes at a time; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is typically moderate, but can be occasionally loud.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year
