Alternating Schedule:

Week 1: 3 days a week, 12 hours a day, Day shift 7am to 7pm (36 hours) (Night 7pm-7am)

Week 2: 4 days a week, 12 hours a day, Day shift 7am to 7pm (48 hours) (Night 7pm-7am)

(2 additional hours a month for staff meeting—if not scheduled during that time)

Location: Kinloch Price Boys Ranch, Valley Center, Kansas

Provides direct care services to young men (age 10-18) in foster care who are in a residential care setting (up to 7 youth in each house)

• Provide and foster a caring and safe environment
• Serve as a role model for young men by exhibiting skills taught in the program
• Use best practice model to help young men address problem behaviors, develop skills that increase protective factors, strengthen resilience, and build social supports
• Counsel young men and assist in learning problem solving skills
• Teach/help youth learn independent living skills and self-care habits
• Help youth identify strengths and use strengths to navigate challenges, tasks, and goals
• Provide crisis intervention services and assist youth in de-escalation of problem behaviors
• Provide support system and a safe home life for vulnerable and disadvantaged youth
• Use best practice model to teach and encourage positive behavior and skill attainment through positive feedback and reward.
• Assist in planning recreational and fun activities for youth in the house
• Transport youth to appointments and activities in agency vehicle
• Document daily activity logs and serious incident reports
• Ensure the residential home meets and exceeds various regulatory bodies (i.e., KDHE, DCF, etc.)
• Ensure health and safety standards are met
• Complete training and development as required by Youth Horizons and licensing partners

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A concern for young men and a strong desire to work in the human services field
• High school diploma or equivalent, with some college credits preferred
• At least 21 years old
• Willingness to work alternating work week schedule (listed above)
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Willingness and ability to model appropriate behaviors and morals
• Committed Christian and agrees with the Youth Horizons statement of faith.
