The club is owned and governed by a membership of 22,000 and operated by staff in a beautiful downtown clubhouse with 600,000 square feet of athletic and social spaces. The staff team embodies this mission and looks for ways to partner with members and work collaboratively to bring it to life.We are looking for staff who are available Monday-Friday from 8:15am-2:15pm.
This is a part time position with the opportunity to gain more hours depending on your availability.
Other shift times vary between the hours of 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. Monday-Sunday.
We are looking to expand our wonderful team of Youth Program Attendants! If you are a fun-loving enthusiastic individual who loves working with children and their families in an active play setting, this job is for you! The Indoor Playground Attendant, under the supervision of the Youth Programs Supervisor is responsible for providing a safe, high-quality care for families within the facility. They supervise the active play area with bouncy houses, play structures, and much more! The Youth Programs Attendants greet and engage with children infant to school age and their families on a daily basis.
General
- Works positively and cooperatively with others in the facility to maintain a friendly, customer-oriented team.
- Complies with and enforces club safety policies and procedures within the department and participates in all club related training and classes.
- Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
- Ensures confidentiality of privileged information.
- Attends all required departmental specific trainings and staff meetings.
- Adheres to all club policies and departmental procedures.
- Provides a warm, safe, and caring environment that is kept orderly, clean, and appealing.
- Interacts positively with all staff, parents, children, and guests.
- Greets parents and children upon arrival and departure.
- Sets up, sanitizes, maintains, and puts away equipment which include play structures and bouncy houses on a daily basis.
- Responsible for taking inventory of the materials and supplies in the area. If supplies are running low or broken, the Indoor Playground Attendant should notify the Youth Programs Coordinator.
- Leads by example, enforces safety regulations, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Addresses Club Rule violations; communicates problems to the Youth Programs Supervisor or Manager on Duty; completes incident report form, as needed.
- Maintains proper safety and security at all times; uses sound judgment related to the safety of all junior members and guests participating in the junior lounge.
- Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service.
1. Experience working with children in a recreational or academic environment is preferred.
2. Demonstrates competence, sound judgment, and self-control in working with infants, young children, and parents.
3. Requires well-developed verbal and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people under a variety of circumstances.
5. Ability and skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and members.
6. Excellent customer service skills are a necessity.
7. Ability to perform the essential job functions.
8. Must pass a background check through Multnomah Athletic Club.
Job Conditions:
1. Essential job functions require frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, and sitting.
2. Must be able to lift and carry children weighing up to 50 lbs.
3. Must be able to set up, clean, and put away furnishings and equipment which include play structures and bouncy houses.
4. Work is performed in the gym with exposure to loud noise on a routine basis.
5. Exposure to incidents requiring the administration of minor first aid may occur.
6. Occasional evening and weekend events.
