Position Title: Shift Supervisor

Position Objective: This position will need to be versatile in quick responses understanding processes, meeting production goals outlined by metrics with in the lean community. Must be adept at trouble shooting, able to work autonomously and have strong leadership skills. The shift supervisor will provide direction to the production personnel, monitor the quality of work, ensure employees receive the proper training before performing the tasks, address maintenance issues, and coordinate equipment preventive maintenance schedules with the Maintenance Technicians. This position will oversee and assist with the daily Plant Operations, including process and procedure improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Practice, communicate, and monitor, by enforcing safe practices with department
• Educate and direct personnel in safety by training and ensuring employee
• Ensure employees are trained on safety of job specific assignments
• Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required
• Issue Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) and tools as necessary

Workforce Training and Planning

• Provide guidance and direction to the production floor personnel
• Monitor and enforce work start, break, and stop times of the production floor personnel
• Manage workforce schedules and assignments distributing labor efficiently
• Communicate clear expectations to production personnel, keep them informed of matters pertaining to their job, and develop personnel growth opportunities
• Lead production floor personnel and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
• Manage the plant maintenance system; Fix, Repair, and adjust all equipment as needed; Train plant personnel to perform basic maintenance; Perform periodic preventive maintenance checks as required; Train and assist plant personnel in operating equipment and perform basic maintenance
• Stage parts and/or supplies as needed
• Support and champion lean manufacturing initiatives.

Experience and Education:

• 2-5+ years supervisory experience preferred
• Heavy vehicle/equipment operation
• Glass processing knowledge, a plus Working Conditions:
• Will be exposed to dusty and noisy conditions periodically
• A mixture of light, moderate and heavy physical activity
