This is truly a unique opportunity to work in a state of the art facility for a growing successful company that is a leader in the distribution industry.
The Distribution Center Supervisor will be directly responsible for developing and influencing all distribution operations which include all inbound and outbound functions as well as support functions help by applying strategic direction in the areas of quality, productivity, employee performance and supervision. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of warehouse workflows and ability to manage exceptions effectively.
  • Capable of mentoring and developing others, recruiting new hires, performance management, and driving high retention
  • Understanding of tools and systems to manage daily workflow successfully
  • Setting high expectations, following up and holding team members accountable to expectations.
  • Holding high standards for not accepting defects or customer impacts and knows how to evaluate root cause and drive resolutions.
  • Delivering on productivity, cost savings, safety, quality, and retention goals.
  • Planning and assigning work and work schedules throughout the
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards, improving productivity, and driving a culture of process improvement
  • Preparing all reports and logs as required.
  • Maintaining the warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Participating in special projects as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinating with supervisors in other departments to facilitate flow of materials or products.
  • Analyzing and resolving work problems, or assisting workers in solving work problems.
  • Performing activities of team members supervised.
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Initiating or suggesting plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree or 2+ years’ recent distribution/warehouse supervisory/leadership experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Basic understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and reporting
  • Superb verbal & written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and follow-up skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (e.g. Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence others.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, diverse team environment

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to write procedure/training documents for processes within all departments
