Job description
WebCheckout is looking for an Accountant to join our team! This position is 100% fully remote. This role is responsible for performing tasks within two distinct disciplines: Accounting, and Administration. Focus areas include client invoicing, journal entries, month-end close related activities, and maintenance contract renewals. This position is also responsible for ad hoc project work as well as basic administrative support for the WebCheckout team.
Accounting
- Completes the client invoicing process including updating and maintaining client records within the company’s billing system as needed to ensure proper delivery of invoices.
- Completes all Accounts Receivable activities including organizing and processing the receipt and deposit of client checks, credit card payments, etc. Follows through with clients on delinquent accounts.
- Completes all Accounts Payable activities including processing incoming vendor invoices for distribution/approval and entry into the company’s GL system.
- Assists with the completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close and reporting, with strict adherence to corporate deadlines and policies.
- Responsible for creating and entering journal entries as needed.
- Provides information for revenue recognition activities to include deferred revenue.
- Performs integration activities between Open Air and Great Plains accounting systems.
- Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
- Assists with reporting and analytics related to the company’s sales activities.
- Reports on departmental budget adherence.
- Identifies and proposes process improvements related to all aspects of job.
- Documents and maintains records for processes and procedures (digital and hard copy if necessary).
- Reviews all expense reports for adherence to company policy, submits for approval
- Administers company commissions program. Ensures information is provided to accounting, submitted for approval, and delivered to Payroll for payment.
Other / Administrative
- Orders supplies and equipment, as necessary.
- Ensures company financial information and plans are kept confidential.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- BS Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- At least 2-3 years of accounting and/or related experience.
- Work experience in the software-as-a-service, or IT service, industry is preferred.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
