Under the general supervision of the Director of Finance, the accountant will be responsible for performing administrative activities associated with the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and business office support. The ideal candidate will work approximately 40 hours per week and will be committed to helping the organization become more efficient and effective.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Maintain general ledger, reconcile receivables and post to ledgers
Cash receipts processing and reconciliation
General Ledger entry, organization, report production, and analysis
Monthly reconciliation of financial accounts
Produce monthly variance reports and distribute to division heads
Year-end closing and adjusting entries
Prepare audit workpapers and coordinate audit process with outside auditors
Maintain fixed asset system
Administrative support for the business office team and other managers
General
Maintain a high standard of ethics and honesty.
Maintain accurate, competent and efficient performance.
Guard the confidentiality of personnel and financial records.
Willing to take on special projects and learn new software when needed
Determine that funds are spent wisely. Promote fiscal responsibility.
Develop and maintain good internal controls for the protection of the school.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a member of a team.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Punctual and reliable attendance.
Accounting Degree or Business with emphasis in accounting (4 class minimum)
2-3 years of experience in accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with Blackbaud FE NXT is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and multi-task capable
Proactive, engaged, and committed to the community we serve

May stand or work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
Work primarily in a traditional climate controlled classroom or office environment
