Job Profile Summary:
The Accounting Clerk performs a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions for the organization. The Accounting Clerk supports tuition programs, updates and maintains financial records and reports. This role may prepare accounting information to assist in producing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in accordance with the mission, core values and purpose of the organization.
What You will Do:
  • Maintains accounting databases, updates documents and records
  • Supports preparation of financial statements and summaries
  • Reconciles various financial records
  • May assist in month end reporting procedures
  • Ensures efficiency and accuracy of records
  • Utilizes accounting software
  • Liaise with other departments/students/partners/vendors
  • Monitor student accounts associated with payment plans, scholarships, and other non-standard payment arrangements
  • Finds and utilizes data to solve problems and to resolve discrepancies
  • Support university retention and graduation goals through outreach and inbound telephone contact.
  • Assists students with billing and accounts receivable questions and issues.
  • Ensures compliance with university, state and federal regulations and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency in bookkeeping programs and related software

  • Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
What You Will Need:
  • 1-3 years customer service experience
  • 1-3 years' experience with spreadsheets and financial reports and general audits
