Main objective:
Be a key member of the Stoneleaf Construction accounting team. Working in tandem with Accounting Manager and Controller to make sure the flow of work is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Job Brief
This position will report to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for managing Accounts Payable. The goal of this position is to become fully familiar with Stoneleaf Construction, LLC (“Stoneleaf”) accounting processes; contribute to the accounting staff and achieve project and company goals.


Responsibilities

  • review and verify invoices and check requests
  • sort, code, and match invoices
  • sort and distribute incoming mail
  • set invoices up for payment
  • process PO’s, matching invoices up to 100 plus line items
  • enter and upload invoices into the system
  • track expenses and process expense reports
  • prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
  • prepare and perform check runs
  • post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
  • reconcile accounts payable transactions
  • reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies and issues
  • prepare an analysis of accounts
  • monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • maintain vendor files
  • correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
  • produce monthly reports
  • assist with month-end closing
  • provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
Required:
  • 1-3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
  • knowledge of accounts payable
  • knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • knowledge of relevant accounting software
  • proficient in data entry and management
  • Organizing and prioritizing
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Preferred:

  • Experience with Timberline or similar software experience preferred
