Job Title: Activity Aide
General Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Teen-REACH Site Coordinator, the Activity Leader will be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of specific activities aimed at meeting the targeted outcomes for the six Teen-REACH Core Components. Individual must be energetic, creative, team oriented, and able to stand, while taking part in physical activities throughout the day.
Specific Job Responsibilities
The Activity Aide will be responsible for working on a one-on-one and on group basis to implement specific activities, including but not limited to providing Academic and Homework Assistance, Conducting Life Skills Classes, Providing one-on-one Mentoring, Assisting in the development of Parental Involvement Opportunities, Creating Volunteer and Community Service Projects, and providing a fun recreational activities for participants to learn the rules and regulations with any sports.
Activity Aide are continually validating youth through positive words of praise and encouragement.
Activity Aide encourages participants to assist in the process of planning and developing calendars, field trips, annual goals & objectives.
The Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting in the recruiting and enrollment of all Teen-REACH participants.
The Activity Aide will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of a weekly and monthly calendar that will outline the specific activities used to assure the provision of all six Core Services, including the scheduling of all events.
The Activity Aide will be responsible for assigning each of the participants to different classes and activities deemed appropriate.
Behavioral incidents and achievements are recorded and shared with supervisors.
Ability to:
- Provides leadership, direction, and problem solving in the development of youth.
- Promote, conduct and supervise activities.
- Instruct, coach and direct varied activities.
- Inspire enthusiasm and interest in program activities.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Assist with all club wide special events,
- Requisition equipment and supplies in a timely manner.
Qualifications
HS Diploma Required, Associates in Education or Equivalent Preferred
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to two years of working with school age youth
All participants receive guidance to help them fulfill and make appropriate choices about their educational, personal, physical, social, emotional, vocational and spiritual needs. Positive and respectful relationships exist between staff and participants.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
