Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.18 per hour. This is a non-exempt (hourly paid) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Community Support Services (CSS) transforms lives and community by supporting veterans, ending homelessness, treating substance use, and preventing and intervening in community and domestic violence. As a department in Mecklenburg County’s Health and Human Services Agency, CSS maximizes community partnerships and collaborative opportunities to improve access to services and advocate for the needs of special populations.
Position Specific Information
Position is located onsite at Valerie C. Woodard Center, 3205 Freedom Drive, Suite 2000, Charlotte, NC 28208.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Position Summary
Perform routine administrative, clerical and technical work. This position, under general supervision, is responsible for general administrative functions of variety and specialization in a department.
Essential Functions
Provide administrative support to internal departmental staff
Respond to inquiries and resolve administrative issues that may arise
Prepare written correspondence such as memos, forms and emails
Create, maintain, organize and enter information into databases and use various computer applications
Operate office equipment, fax machines, copiers, or phone systems and arrange for needed repairs
Set up and manage paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents, such as correspondence, or other material
Operate mail systems and coordinate the flow of information, internally or externally
Schedule, confirm and maintain meetings, events, and schedules
Compose, type, and distribute information such as meeting notes, agendas, and general information
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of two years of administrative experience
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes
Licenses and Certifications
May require a North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
Current experience with Excel spreadsheets (Intermediate or higher level)
Current or previous experience working with Homeless populations
