We are looking for a friendly, competent, and responsible Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of tasks in our Practical Nursing Program at Venango Technology Center located on the Warren State Hospital Grounds! You will work in the office supporting day-to-day operations and helping with recruiting new students to our nursing program! You will provide support to our Administrator and Nurse Educators. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, be organized, help our program run smoothly, and be able to easily use Microsoft Office applications (especially Microsoft Word). If you have previous experience as a Secretary/ Administrative Assistant, we’d love to meet you!

Benefits to joining our program:

This program's schedule mirrors many school district schedules. That means, expect time off around Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as other holidays too! The position is 202 days/ year, so you will be scheduled off additional work days throughout the year (usually Mondays and Fridays).

Also, our healthcare benefits are through Highmark PPO Blue. The employee only pays $48 per month for FAMILY coverage with low co-pays ($20) and great prescription coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Distribute email, letters, faxes and forms
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Maintain a filing system
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers
  • Maintain contact lists
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Attend local high school career fairs occasionally and other recruiting events
  • Act as the point of contact for interested applicants and current students

Skills

  • Knowledge of office systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Microsoft Word especially)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • High School degree or GED

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $25,001.00 per year
