SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the health care for those clients for which she/he has been assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current APRN licensure as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner; minimum of one year experience as APRN required; experience in psychiatric care required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completes history and physical and vitals and uses nursing knowledge to assess the medical condition of clients on the units, in outpatient programs, and when providing Crisis Support Emergency services.
  • Provide support to the Outpatient Medication Management and the Medication Assisted Treatment programs, within the scope of practice and with physician support.
  • Be willing to travel to different sites based on the needs of the programs.
  • Resolves client problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Order, perform, interpret, and sign off routine laboratory, diagnostics, rehab services and other therapies as needed.
  • Provide counseling and anticipatory guidance.
  • Is available to provide Crisis Support Emergency services when needed.
  • Completes history and physical and vitals and uses nursing knowledge to assess the medical condition of clients in outpatient programs, and when providing Crisis Support Emergency services.
  • Prescribe, alter and monitor drug therapies based on education and experience. Consultation and physician support will be sought by the APRN when judged necessary.
  • Other measures may be initiated depending on the client’s condition and judgment of the APRN under the supervision of the assigned physician.
  • Provide routine and on call, support to Detox, Residential, and CORT programs on a rotating basis and as needed.
