Position Summary
The main charge of the Agriculture Technician position will be to help with the normal tasks that arise with maintaining a production farm. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
General garden maintenance, planting, weeding, mulching, harvesting, and watering
Helping with building projects
Working collaboratively to develop educational opportunities

Qualifications/Special Skills Required
The position should anticipate moderate to strenuously physical work such as lifting, hauling, pulling weeds and other garden activities. Agriculture Technicians will be expected to work efficiently, be responsible for physical upkeep such as staying hydrated, and remain consistently reliable for working at scheduled time. The ability to work effectively with others in a setting of diverse ideas and voices will be necessary, as will be taking part in group consensus.

What are the Program’s Guidelines?
- Open to all summer school students. International Students MUST HAVE a VISA work permit to be able to participate in the program.
- Applicant must be in good academic standing and be maintaining a 2.0 grade point average AT THE TIME APPLICATION IS SUBMITTED.
- Applicants must have “cleared” account balances in the Office of Student Accounts and no judicial “holds” prior to the beginning of the summer cadre program.
- By submitting this application, you are authorizing the Guilford College Office of Campus Life to disclose any and all information regarding my disciplinary record to the Cadre committee. This information will be used to determine if you qualify for the position you are putting a request in on.
What Benefits are Provided?
- Salary of $10/hr paid monthly for 20 hours of work per week.
- Each cadre will be awarded a $1000 summer tuition discount.
What are the Program’s Guidelines?
- All participants must sign a Summer Cadre Employment Agreement.
- There is no meal plan requirement for the summer.
- Any student participating in the program must commit to working 20 hours per week.
- The Summer Cadre Program begins on May 22, 2023 and continues through the end of second term.
- Cadre students must fill out an application for summer housing if they wish to live on campus. Applications are available in Campus Life, Founders Hall 2nd floor.
