Job Summary:
The Alumni Relations Assistant serves as the front line relationship manager for the Alumni Office. Essential to pipelining alumni engagement, this position serves to seek out and recognize outstanding individuals within the PLNU alumni community. Skilled in relationship management and program coordination, the Alumni Assistant runs the Loma Legacy awards programs and all special stewardship programs as needed.

Anticipated Schedule 32-40 hours per week

Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Curate alumni stories for publication in the Viewpoint and shared on social platforms in partnership with Marketing and Creative Services
  • Coordinate the Loma Legacy award recognition programs (Rising Alumni, Spotlight & Distinguished Achievement) including: overseeing the nomination/selection process, awardee communication, and event development.
  • Support the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving in the stewardship and management of Alumni Board members and other donors as assigned
  • Provide stewardship support for all annual giving programs
  • Coordinate the Alumni Endowed Student Scholarship, Faculty Grant, and Alumni Brick programs
  • Manage and coordinate reservations for the Alumni House.
  • Assist Alumni Office budget management and reporting
  • Assist the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving with all other duties as assigned.
Employment Standards
  • Strong organizational ability and proficiency in managing people and systems.
  • Extremely accurate, efficient and highly productive
  • Three years of increasingly responsible administrative and/ or financial responsibilities.
  • Understanding of basic financial accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to communicate extremely well in writing and verbally. And ability to exercise important interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with alumni, faculty, staff, students and the general public.
  • Ability to perform successfully in a team environment.
  • Previous experience with Raiser’s Edge or another database preferred.
  • Previous experience working in fundraising preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while experiencing frequent interruptions.
  • Strong computer skills to include Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements
Sitting for periods greater than one hour. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 10 lbs. throughout the day.
