Application Engineers with Cummins-Wagner's EPS division are responsible for the design, costing, and overall functionality of custom packaged mechanical systems for commercial and industrial applications. Packaged systems may include pumps, air compressors, heat exchangers, motors, piping, instruments, and control panels mounted onto a common fabricated steel base. Systems are designed to fit a diverse range of customer needs and application requirements so each day brings new challenges and successes. The Application Engineer will also work as part of a dynamic team to provide technical support for the internal sales team and external clients in both the design and fulfillment stages of projects. This requires a unique combination of customer service skills, problem solving skills, and drive.

COMPENSATION:
$50-70k Annually

Successful Application Engineers:

  • Communicate with customers, engineers, and end users to determine system requirements.
  • Formulate a design to meet or exceed all requirements parameters, plans, and specifications.
  • Select and price all system components to generate proposals for the complete packaged system.
  • Work directly with C-W design team to create mechanical layouts and custom controls panels for customer review and approval.
  • Serve as lead for quoting, design, submittals, and O&Ms for all assigned projects.
  • Simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of projects and issues with tact, cooperation and persistence.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hydronic or mechanical system design and/ or commercial HVAC equipment preferred
  • Computer skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF editing. Capacity to learn sizing systems.
  • Proficient at written and oral communication with internal external customers
  • Ability to work well independently and as an effective and efficient team member
  • Must be able to successfully balance multiple projects and assignments while delivering timely, high quality work products
  • Must be able to pass background and reference checks; as well as drug test
  • Must maintain active driver’s license with clean driving record
