Setra is searching for a great Application Engineer to join our team! The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and motivated by a challenge. They must be a fast learner, a great teammate, have a “can-do, no fear” mentality, and willing to roll up their sleeves to help a colleague or customer. This person will be responsible for providing technical assistance to customers, channel partners and Sales on new and existing products.

Key responsibilities:
Handle customer technical support cases through phone and email submissions
Assist management in creating training materials and troubleshooting guides pertaining to troubleshooting and usage of our products
Partner with Sales and Product Managers to bring application expertise to the customer
Improve existing documentation both internally and externally from technical questions and customer experience
Guide customers through the process of selecting the right product for the application
Work on special projects including new product development testing & qualification, dynamic sales demos, kaizen events, etc.
Specialize focus in network communication protocols such as BACnet and MODBUS

Needed qualifications:
2+ years of inside sales or customer/technical service experience, preferably within a manufacturing company and a business-to-business sales environment
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
Experience with Network Communication Protocols such as TCP/IP
Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with customers
Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently

Preferred qualifications:
Experience with industrial sensors, preferably pressure based
Experience using a CRM system (Salesforce preferred)
Field Service Experience with building automation and controls

TRAVEL: 10% of overnight travel to headquarters, trade shows and/or customer sites required for the position.
