The City of Harrisonville is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Aquatics Facilities Managers at our Community Center.
General Definition of Work
To manage, assign, review, schedule and participate in the work of staff responsible for daily aquatic operations for the City of Harrisonville Parks and Recreation aquatics facilities at the Indoor Community Center (year-round), and the Outdoor Aquatic Center (seasonal) and other aquatic operations and water programs as assigned. Manage and participate with staff directly responsible for lifeguarding, facility supervision, water quality and facility cleanliness; and to perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Receive general supervision from the Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation.
Essential Functions
- Exercises direct supervision over 1 full-time Aquatic division staff, and direct supervision over 20 – 30 part-time/seasonal lifeguard staff.
- Plan, prioritize, supervise, and coordinate the work of staff responsible for the daily operations of assigned aquatic facilities.
- Select, train, motivate and evaluate assigned facility staff; provide or coordinate staff training to include Customer Service, CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding, Pool Operation and BBP, evaluate employee performance.
- Recommend and establish a comprehensive manual of aquatic procedures: recommend and implement goals and objectives: establish schedules and methods for aquatic operations; implement policies and procedures for aquatic operations. Enforce existing City policies.
- Inspect assigned facilities for needed maintenance and repairs and daily activity within the facility: plan and delegate work: review work in progress and correct deficiencies as necessary, notify the city Parks & Maintenance Facilities Manager of needed repairs within the facilities. Oversee the care and maintenance of the physical assets and facilities/grounds of the assigned facilities.
- Maintain written and electronic accounting records for chemical inventories, and chemical readings.
- Maintain equipment and supplies needed for aquatic facility operations.
- Ability to answer questions and provide written and verbal information to the public concerning Aquatic activities, policies, and procedures; investigate complaints and take corrective action.
- Ensure safe work practices by aquatic personnel; maintain, evaluate, report and file incident /accident reports.
- Thorough understanding of local, federal, and state guidelines that relate to pool operations and chemistry.
- Ensures all operations are using proper cash handling procedures and ensure a proper daily balance of revenues collected.
- Schedules use of the aquatic’s facilities, coordinating this with all community center staff.
- Assists in the creation and development of special events.
- Prepares weekly, and monthly reports for the Director of Parks & Recreation.
- Registers participants in programs working with Rec Trac.
- Oversees and monitors the budget for all aquatics program areas.
Minimum Qualifications
Annual Salary - $52,215 plus a generous benefit package.
